How We Operate

ModVoice is built on a high-performance edge network. We utilize serverless routing for instantaneous load times worldwide, backed by robust WebRTC SFU (Selective Forwarding Unit) architecture for voice. This ensures that no matter where you are, your latency remains incredibly low.

Data Collection & Privacy

Privacy isn't an afterthought; it's our foundation. We collect only the absolute minimum data required to authenticate you and route your calls. Voice streams are strictly ephemeral—they pass through our SFUs and vanish. We do not store, record, or sell your audio, and IP addresses are used solely for real-time connection establishment.

End-to-End Encrypted DMs

When you start a 1-on-1 private call or send a direct message, your connection is secured with End-to-End Encryption (E2EE). Using DTLS-SRTP for media and WebRTC datachannels for text, encryption keys are exchanged directly between clients. Even our servers cannot decrypt your private conversations.

Server Creation & Communities

Anyone can create a persistent voice server instantly. These hubs are hosted on our infrastructure but managed entirely by you. With robust role-based access control, channel-specific permissions, and custom vanity URLs, you have complete authority over who can join, listen, and speak in your community.

Audio Routing & Quality

We use the Opus audio codec—the industry standard for high-fidelity, low-latency communication. Our intelligent routing dynamically adjusts bitrates based on your real-time network conditions. If your connection drops, ModVoice smoothly scales down bandwidth to prioritize keeping your voice uninterrupted.

Security & Transparency

Security is a continuous, transparent process. By utilizing industry-standard open protocols like WebRTC, we ensure our encryption implementations are verifiable.
